Wow! Where to begin....Our experience with Dance Stars Academy has been more than positive. Our daughter had been involved with another dance school prior to Dance Stars and she was not keen on it at all. When we decided to give Dance Stars a try, her attitude towards dance totally changed. She loved everything about her dance class and could not wait to get there each Saturday. Her instructor, Miss Olga, was so wonderful with the children and you could see how much the children respected her by the way they looked at her. The small class size of only 6 students allowed Miss Olga to reach each child and take them from where they were. As a parent, I appreciated the excellent communication from Miss Maria and the various events planned over the course of the semester. Then end of the year recital was amazing. The standard of excellence instruction was certainly evident in the recital. Thank you so much, Miss Maria and Miss Olga for giving our daughter a wonderful experience! We will definitely be back! First, our daughter adored them and we were extremely pleased to see her progressing, expressing herself, and enjoying so much the ballet classes. The curriculum and method of teaching provides the kids with both a fun and disciplinary approach to learning. The children are not only trained to appreciate the arts, they also learn to work well with others. She is pleasant yet provides discipline, sadly lacking in so many activities today, which the students respond to. She is demanding yet approachable as my 5 year old is excited for every class and runs into the studio so as to not miss a second of Ms. Maria's teachings. Expectations to do your best are present.
The effort Maria, her husband and volunteers put into the recital was nothing short of brilliant. Costume changes, intermission and a performance by Maria brought an air of Professionalism supported by the obvious results of Maria's efforts as the children, even the 3-5 year old, were following intricate choreography which frankly, impressed me to no end. Maria's performance was excellent for the audience as well as her students as they witnessed "how it is done". The recital highlight for me was watching my daughter try her hardest and her obvious glee in being an equal in this group. My daughter will be back for more instruction, discipline and comradeship stewarded by the ever able Ms. Maria. Ms. Maria is highly skilled and able to keep the kids' interest while teaching them a lot. Working toward the performance of an actual ballet at the end was very exciting for our daughter. We were amazed at the progress she made is just a few months! It did a lot for her self-confidence too.
